When We Are Closed

When the surgeries are closed there is an emergency doctor service available plase call NHS111

To access the service please call 111 or telephone William Street Surgery (01227 740000) and your call will be re-directed as appropriate. At the Hersden surgery an answer phone will greet your call giving the number of South East Health Limited.

South East Health Limited can also be contacted directly. Telephone: 0844 800 1234.

Patients should only ring this number for urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the next day to be treated.

When you contact the service you will speak to a receptionist.  They will pass your details to a doctor or nurse who may:

  • give advice over the telephone
  • ask you to attend a centre
  • arrange for a doctor to visit you at home

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergencyNHS ChoicesThis site is brought to you by My Surgery Website
